"He will rest knowing how much he is loved..........not as a piper, but as a wonderful human being.........in every sense." Pipe Major Terry Adams
Please take a little time each day to remember those who died, and the ones they left behind. To remember what really matters, and to tell the people you care about how very much you love them.

Drum-Major Richard Gilmore |

December 3, 1951 - October 22, 2004
In October of 2002 Richard Gilmore entered into what would become known as the Quaboag Highlanders Pipes & Drums. One look at Rich and we could all tell that there was something special about this man. What we could not tell on that night was that we would only have this special man for two years and two weeks.
When we first decided to formally establish as a Pipe Band we knew that we would need someone unique up front to “clear the way” for this new band of Pipers & Drummers. It was obvious that only one man present could handle the task, and that man was Richard.
To ask a Piper in training to put his piping aside is a very bold thing to do. After all it was the bagpipes that drew Rich to us in the first place. However, Rich knew that this Pipe Band was going to be unlike any other. He knew that there was something very special about this band of Pipers so without hesitation Richard stepped up to the plate and became the first Drum-major of the Quaboag Highlanders Pipes & Drums. He jumped into the trenches and “cleared the way” for the rest of us.
Rich had that special gift, a true heart, he loved people and wanted to make them smile. Richard has set his mark upon our band; he has set forth a style that will forever be a part of the Quaboag Highlanders Pipes & Drums. For this we are very thankful. He will never be forgotten.
Even though Rich was the man up in the front leading the way, he was always putting others before him. It was his wish to give back by means of the Drum-Major Richard Gilmore “Follow Me” Award, a fund set up to offer scholarship money to aspiring Highland Drummers and Drum-Majors.
“Our Sincere Condolences go out to Reb Gilmore and her Family”
We will miss you my Friend, until we muster again - “FAUGH A BALLAGH"
-THE QUABOAG HIGHLANDER FAMILY
Of all the comrades that ere I had, they’re sorry for my going away,
And of all the sweethearts that ere I had, they wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot that I should rise while you should not,
I will gently rise and I’ll softly call, “Goodnight and joy be with you all”.

Piper Owen S. Clark |
December 16,1932 - August 24, 2004
On Tuesday August 24, 2004 Piper Owen Clark, passed away.
Owen was a bit camera shy, but certainly never reluctant to strike up a conversation. He touched us all with his positive attitude, big beautiful laugh and smile, his generosity, and his kindness. Owen always spoke kindly of everyone, and Always had a funny story to share. Owen's warmth and friendship will be missed by all of the band members. Owen, we may have taught you how to pipe, but you taught us something even more important, how to be a better person. Till we meet again Owen.
The Quaboag Highlanders offer our Sincerest Condolences
to Linda Clark and her family on their loss.
